Fudgy and fabulous, Oreo Brownies are a one-bowl dessert that blows away box brownies. Scratch made with simple ingredients, these cocoa powder brownies are chock full of creamy, crunchy Oreo cookies and semi-sweet chocolate chips.

It feels like forever and a day since I’ve posted a new recipe. Two long weeks have gone by and in that span of dessert-less days, I’ve not only lost my grip on the flow of time but also the grip on my sanity. My mother-in-law broke her foot, my husband blew out both his knees and my son pulled a hamstring which leaves me the only person left in the family able to walk on 2 feet.

Even with full functionality of my lower limbs, I’m still unable to outrun life’s problems. But it isn’t all bad; I can still saunter to the pantry and pop Oreo cookies in my mouth. Honestly, if both my legs were amputated I’d still find a way get my hands on a package of Oreos. Happiness doesn’t come from body parts, it comes from Nabisco cookies. And if you’ve never added the famous black and white cookies to a bowl of brownie batter, you’ve been missing out on pure bliss.

No lie, I have never loved any brownie as much as I love an Oreo Brownie. Plus, they are a cinch to make from scratch. All you need is 1 bowl and 15 minutes to mix up ingredients you probably already have in your pantry: cocoa powder, chocolate chips, sugar, flour, vanilla, eggs, Oreos and butter. And since 3/4 cup is the measurement for half of the ingredients, it is literally a recipe you can make from memory the next time around. And trust me, after the first decadent bite of these fudgy cookies and cream brownies, it’s a guarantee that you’ll be making these on repeat. And since there’s no time like the present to get started, I suggest running to the kitchen as fast as your legs will carry you and whipping up a pan of these Oreo Cookie Brownies.

Before sharing the Oreo Brownies recipe, here are a few baking tips to help you out:

Brownie Ingredient Tips

For best results, eggs need to be at room temperature before beginning.

Always bake brownies with unbleached flour. Bleach should only be added to brownies for cheating boyfriends, not brownies you’re eating yourself.

Brownie Preparation Tips

Only bake brownies in a shiny metal pan. Glass and stoneware pans are not recommended for brownies due uneven and prolonged bake times.

Wondering how to tell when brownies are done? Insert a toothpick into the center of brownies. A few moist crumbs means the brownies are ready to be removed from the oven. If the batter is still wet then continue baking and test again in 1 minute increments. Take care to avoid overbaking or brownies will be dry.

How to Store Oreo Brownies

Brownies will keep up to a week at room temperature when stored in an airtight container.

Can you freeze brownies? Yes, Oreo Brownies can be frozen up to 3 months. Before freezing, be sure brownies have cooled completely. Next, slice into individual servings then wrap each in plastic wrap then in aluminum foil and place in an airtight container. Thaw at room temperature.
